I suppose because fur is a natural product and reminds us of the primative. It’s not necessary or even advisable that you use REAL fur however! There are plenty of faux-fur products out there that are ideal!

You will find it very difficult to get authentic certification like FSC in South Africa. Teak from Zimbabwe will be sold as certified, but you will find far more truck loads crossing the border that could possibly be from sustained forests. Don’t buy hard woods or local exotic woods unless your supplier can prove their sustainability.
